Crushing Glory

O Wondrous King, blessed are You, Adonai our God, King of the Universe, Who loves so incredibly.  It is unfathomable to think that the very bedrock of Your universe... is love.  
Yes, it's unfathomable, because, throughout the course of history, even right up to the present day, as sinful man began to invent their own gods and their own stories of how the universe came to be, none of them, 

not one single one, 

invented a god of love, filled with complete goodness and overwhelming generosity.  
Not one.  

None invented a god utterly and wholly pure, righteous, and holy.  None invented a rescue story involving their god stepping down from the throne, donning a human body, for the express purpose of sacrificing that body to pay the ransom for the killers’ eternal souls.
  
Human depravity cannot invent anything more glorious and more powerful than that one truth.  Indeed, what other god knows the hairs of the heads of every.single.human who ever lived, AND is so readily accessible to every human, regardless of that person’s level of earthly importance?  Indeed, Your ear, Your comfort through all our earthly trials, is only a prayer away.  You are incomprehensibly amazing!  Staggering!  That one truth would be enough on its own.  

But, it doesn’t end there.

If that was all there is, if our souls were not eternal, if this life on earth is all there is and when we die we cease to exist…just knowing You and talking to You in prayer during our brief time on earth…would be enough.  It would be enough of a joy and delight to know You through faith in this momentary earthly life, that we could be satisfied with that alone.  But, this is not all there is.  The weight of this is bewildering: our souls actually are eternal.  

This world… is not our final destination.  The best… the bestest, bestest, bestest… is still to come: 
We will get to see You face to face, we will get to live with You, eternally.  We will actually be in your actual presence… forever.  That… THAT… is our final destination.

How?  How, how, how, O how can this be?  How can You love so… SO… much?  
How can You love so much, that You would pay such an enormous price, to spend eternity…eternity!... with people who were once Your enemies?  
How can You forgive that much?  
How can You be so incredibly generous?  

But, it doesn’t end there.  

If THAT was all there is, just seeing You, living with You… A mere flea in the carpet could do that.  But… O Wondrous King… 

Your love… is so massive…
Those enemies You rescued at the cost of Your life?
You adopt… to be Your children, granting them the full rights and privileges of heirs.  
Heirs to the greatest, 
most powerful, 
most supreme King this universe will ever know.  
Not just heirs in status.  Many earthly heirs to earthly kings didn’t even know their fathers.  Your heirs?  Your heirs are beloved.
Cherished.
Looked upon with tender affection, and parental delight.  

It’s too much!!  Adonai!  O hallowed Adonai! The weight of this glory crushes us to the ground!  We are too tiny to comprehend this!  Indeed, trying to comprehend it, is like trying to drink the entire ocean in one swallow.  

O how worthy You are, O Lamb that was slain, to receive glory and honor, power and riches, adoration and fame, allegiance, fealty, devotion and sacrifice.  The day is coming… that every knee will bow before You, declaring You to be The King, The One King, over all other kings.  O quicken that day!

O Blessed are You, King of the Universe, our Adonai.
